2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal data processed through the clausal.com website, including any subdomains. It does not apply to data processed in the context of employment, supplier relationships, or other business operations, which are governed by separate notices provided directly to the relevant individuals.

3. Personal data we collect and why

3.1 Contact form submissions

When you submit the contact form on this site, we collect the information you provide: typically your name, email address, organisation, and the content of your message. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to progress a business relationship.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering a contract) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries).

Processor: Contact form submissions are transmitted to and stored by Formspark (submit-form.com), a third-party form processing service. Formspark acts as a data processor under a data processing agreement. Data is stored within the European Union. For Formspark's own privacy terms, see formspark.io.

3.2 Website analytics

This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across sites or devices. Plausible processes only aggregated, anonymous data (page views, referrers, browser type, country-level geography). No personal data is collected or stored through Plausible, and no consent is required for its use. Plausible is operated from the European Union. For full details, see plausible.io/privacy.

4. Cookies

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Plausible Analytics, the tool used for site statistics, operates without cookies. No consent banner is required because no cookies that require consent under the ePrivacy Directive are set. If you have disabled cookies in your browser, your experience of this site will not be affected.

5. Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to manage the relevant business relationship or enquiry, and for a period of up to three years thereafter unless a longer retention period is required by law or legitimate business need. Data that is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected is deleted or anonymised.

6. International transfers

Clausal's own infrastructure is located in Finland, within the European Union. Contact form data is processed by Formspark within the EU. We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area. If this changes, we will update this policy and ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold about you:

Right of access — to obtain confirmation of whether we process data about you and to receive a copy.
Right to rectification — to have inaccurate data corrected without undue delay.
Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data where there is no overriding legitimate purpose to retain it.
Right to restriction — to request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability — to receive data you have provided in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including for direct marketing purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sales@clausal.com. We will respond within one month. Where a request is complex or numerous, we may extend this period by a further two months, notifying you accordingly. We do not charge a fee for handling rights requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish data protection supervisory authority:

Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto)
tietosuoja.fi

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
